State of Play and State of Play Japan return on September 3, with the two showcases airing back-to-back and an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation confirmed to close the first presentation.
PlayStation has two showcases lined up for this week, with State of Play and State of Play Japan both returning on Thursday, September 3.
The broadcasts will air back-to-back, starting with the main State of Play before immediately handing things over to a Japan-focused presentation.
According to the official PlayStation Blog, everything gets underway at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST / 10pm JST on September 3, with both shows streaming live through PlayStation's YouTube and Twitch channels.
The first State of Play will feature updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners, although Sony is keeping most of the lineup under wraps for now.
One game we know will be there is Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Revelation, which will close the first broadcast with an extended look at its world.
Once that's finished, State of Play Japan will begin immediately afterwards.
Hosted once again by Yuki Kaji, the second presentation will shift the spotlight towards developers from Japan and across Asia, with PlayStation promising new gameplay, announcements and deeper dives into upcoming games.
There will also be language options for viewers outside Japan. The main State of Play will be presented in English with Japanese subtitles available, while State of Play Japan will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles.
Sony hasn't confirmed how long either presentation will last or revealed a complete list of participating games, leaving plenty of room for surprises when the broadcasts begin.
With two showcases running back-to-back and Final Fantasy VII Revelation already confirmed for an extended appearance, September 3 could be a busy day for PlayStation fans.
