As a Senior Unreal Programmer at this studio in Farnborough, you will be planning and implementing an Unreal server, supporting game features, highlighting risks and working to mitigate them and a whole lot more.

Senior Unreal Programmer responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate and implement an Unreal server for use in a multiplayer game 

  • Support game features in Unreal to deliver a game that performs well in the real world 

  • Create a backlog of work required 

  • Highlight and mitigate risks in the technical plan and provide timescale estimates 

  • Establish budgets for the game 

  • Ensure metrics are sent to the reporting system so network performance can be monitored over time 

  • Be a key contact for networking best practices in the studio 

Key requirements for this role in Farnborough:

  • Professional experience developing quality shipped PC/console/mobile games 

  • Strong knowledge of C++ programming 

  • Skilled in 3D maths, optimisation and data structures 

  • Experience shipping titles in Unreal engine 

  • Knowledge of the underlying architecture of how Unreal networks games 

  • Able to mentor junior members of the team 

  • Passionate about working in the games industry and making VR games 

  • Professional experience working with Unreal Engine 4 on shipped networked titles
