Skillsearch is helping a games studio in Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines find a Senior Mobile Game Designer with experience with free-to-play and a deep understanding of game design theory. You'll receive a favourable salary and great benefits.

As a Senior Mobile Game Designer, you will implement, and iterate on design problems relating to things like game mechanics, rewards, game modes, ranked systems, monetisation, and/or social systems.

In your first few weeks in this Senior Mobile Game Designer role, you can expect to:

  • Establish a process for designing and integrating new game levels and live game events with compelling visual narrative, cutscenes and engaging minigames, events and quests 

  • Collaborate with the Creative, Art, Design and UI teams to develop concepts and storyboards for game levels and events 

  • Design, document, and communicate game mechanics, rules, and systems, ensuring clarity and alignment with the project's vision 

  • Prototype and iterate on gameplay ideas, gather stakeholder feedback, and conduct playtests to refine and improve the player experience. 

To apply for this Senior Mobile Game Designer role, you will need 5+ years of experience working in the video games industry. You will also require the following:

  • Demonstrated ability to design engaging premises and visual narratives for levels, quests, minigames and events, including but not limited to optimising level flow, pacing, visual storytelling, character animations, PvP experience, etc 

  • Expert understanding of how to show story progression through mechanics/gameplay 

  • Knowledge of 3D environments, animations and cinematics and 3D game scenes, levels and environments 

  • Ability to analyse game systems for their strengths and weakness.
