Skillsearch is working with a client with an exciting opportunity for an experienced and collaborative Senior Gameplay Designer to join a welcoming team. This full-time Senior Gameplay Designer remote role has bases in Alberta and British Columbia and offers a generous salary and excellent benefits.

As a Senior Gameplay Designer, you will work closely with artists, designers, animators, and programmers to design, implement, and own innovative and fun gameplay features and pipelines for the client's flagship title. Initially, you will design and implement prototypes, moving on to develop multiple gameplay features at final quality.

In your first few weeks in this Senior Gameplay Designer role, you can expect to:

  • Design, implement, and own features related to the creature creation pipeline from prototypes to final quality 

  • Contribute to memorable gameplay experiences that support the narrative and the themes of the IP through collaboration with the broader team 

  • Define, document, and share best practices related to creatures and behaviours 

  • Actively mentor the creative and technical abilities of team members 

To apply for this role, you will need five years of experience as a gameplay designer in professional game development shipping multiple AAA titles. You will also require the following:

  • A high level of experience in Unreal 4/5 and Blueprints 

  • Experience with the Gameplay Ability System 

  • Experience guiding multiple creatures through prototyping to final quality 

  • Experience working with behaviour trees or other creature AI systems 

  • Familiarity with gameplay mechanics in action/adventure/RPG titles
