Skillsearch is seeking an experienced Senior Game Designer to join our client's growing team of experienced developers on some very exciting up-and-coming games! This full-time Senior Designer role is based in Auckland and comes with a compelling salary and benefits package.

You will be working closely with the Directors, forming the vision and creative foundation of the games. You will also be leading a team from prototypes to final worldwide releases of these titles. They have a growing team of industry veterans and talented newcomers working in a fun, collaborative, and diverse studio.

If you were already in this Senior Game Designer role, here are some areas you might have worked in this week:

  • Conceptualise and in-depth development of our games as well as participate in the creation and review of new and innovative game concepts and ideas 

  • Lead and mentor other game designers in the studio 

  • Review work at various stages of implementation to ensure the execution matches the vision, goals, and quality requirements 

  • Research and develop, contribute to market studies and trends, and propose new game concepts/ideas 

  • Lead and mentor other game designers in the studio 

The successful Senior Game Designer applicant will have 5+ years of game development experience, preferably working on F2P games. You will also require:

  • Release of at least 2 games 

  • Experience designing core game systems 

  • An excellent understanding of the mobile market and knowledge of monetisation in F2P games 

  • Expertise in game design, with experience designing and implementing game mechanics and systems 

  • Experience in level design and game development
