A little bit about the city: Berlin

As the German capital, Berlin is almost 775 years old and is known as a city of culture, politics and science. With a lively culture and infamous history, this city is loved by locals and tourists alike and certainly has a lot to offer those who want to explore it. The art scene is one cultural aspect of the city that is constantly flourishing, the East Side Gallery is one example which is a highly popular tourist spot. This open-air gallery is home to a large part of the Berlin Wall, which has been entirely covered by over 100 paintings, and is now recognised as a protected landmark.

With around half a million people of Berlin’s population being people who originate from outside of Germany, you certainly won’t be alone if you’re thinking of relocating to this vibrant city. As for getting around the city, Berlin offers a highly efficient public transport system which has been noted as affordable and always on time. With one ticket, you have access to every public transport service in Berlin, from various train services, to buses, trams and ferries, this comprehensive system makes getting around a breeze.

Why choose Madrid?

Madrid is the capital of and most populous city in Spain and the second-largest city in the EU. As a city it is home to 10’s of games studios so is a great place to find games industry opportunities. Spain’s video games industry turned over 1.8 billion euros in 2021 and continues to grow, making now a great time to join a studio in the exciting capital city. Madrid also has an appealing work culture, a laid-back work-life balance means that frequently taking holidays, enjoying long lunch breaks and ensuring there is no over-working is encouraged to strike a balance between work and leisure.

Madrid also has the biggest expat community in Spain, with over 1 million of its 3.4 million residents being expats, so if relocating to the city from elsewhere in the world you certainly won’t be alone and will have plenty of people there to make you feel at home. Its rich history and lively nightlife makes for a wonderful balance and an exciting city to explore no matter your interests.
