Our client is currently looking for a combat-focused Level Designer. This Level Designer role is based in either Copenhagen, Denmark or Malmö, Sweden and offers a favourable salary and benefits.

As a Level Designer with our client, you will play a crucial role in shaping immersive experiences within the dynamic world of a popular game. You'll create outstanding combat scenarios, and bridge communication between level designers and code/game design teams to ensure a harmonious integration of combat-centric elements. Additionally, you will take on the mentorship role, guiding fellow level designers in adopting and mastering best practices related to combat design.

In your first few weeks in this Level Designer role, you can expect to:

  • Craft intricate and captivating combat environments that both challenge players' skills and immerse them in intense, strategic encounters 

  • Develop level layouts that are optimized for balanced and memorable combat experiences 

  • Utilise proprietary tools to design, build, and script levels 

  • Collaborate with game designers and programmers to ensure proper utilization of mechanics and systems in levels – from prototyping to implementation 

  • Work with content teams to ensure that level playability and graphic elements complement each other 

To apply for this Level Designer role, you will need 3+ years of relevant experience in level design with a robust portfolio showcasing your work. You will also require the following:

  • A passion for and demonstrate expertise in crafting levels with a keen focus on combat scenarios for third-person (or first-person) action-adventure games 

  • Proficiency with 3D level editors and visual scripting for games 

  • Hands-on experience with a diverse array of proprietary game engines
