Skillsearch is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Lead Gameplay Engineer to join our client's welcoming and inclusive team. This full-time role is based in Los Angeles and offers an attractive salary and benefits package.

As a Lead Gameplay Engineer, you will help drive, implement, and support high-performance animation and character technology. You will also collaborate directly with engineers, designers, animators, and QA to support high-fidelity in-game characters. This position requires a passion for games and solving ambitious technical and creative problems.

In your first few weeks in this Lead Gameplay Engineer role, you can expect to:

  • Cultivate cross-disciplinary working relationships based on honesty and transparency 

  • Author lean, high-performance, maintainable code 

  • Actively profile and optimize the game's codebase 

  • Participate in the testing and documentation of character animation systems and tools 

To apply for this Lead Gameplay Engineer role, you will need 8+ years of professional game programming experience. You will also require the following:

  • Deep knowledge of animation, physics, and character-related systems from engine to game 

  • Experience bringing a large-scale game title to completion on PC and consoles 

  • Expertise in C++, debugging, and 3D math
