Do you have game design experience, and are you seeking a new job in Chengdu? Skillsearch is helping a gaming studio find a Lead Game Designer, and the role comes with an excellent salary and benefits package.

As a Lead Game Designer, you will understand the IP world, and its actors, blend mechanics and narrative in a way that reinforces gameplay and embraces brand values.

In your first few weeks in this Lead Game Designer role, you can expect to:

  • Develop new and innovative ideas and concepts for interactive scenes and role-play experiences in our IPs or third-party IPs 

  • Craft engaging experiences 

  • Directly contribute to project design and development – creating sketches, storyboards, initial concepts, and prototyping your ideas in Unity 

  • Obtain the consensus of the artists, designers and programmers throughout the entire game production cycle to create great playing experiences for kids 

To apply for this Lead Game Designer role, you must be passionate about creating kids’ and pre-teen’s console games and products/services. You will also require the following:

  • 5+ years of experience in designing and developing apps and games 

  • 2+ years leading game designer teams 

  • The ability to deeply empathize with players and define their needs 

  • The ability to articulate your design goals and communicate them to artists, programmers, and stakeholders 

  • Proficiency in English, technical jargon, and the skill of adapting your communication to a multicultural environment
