Do you have Game Designer experience, and are you seeking a new contract in London? Skillsearch is helping a collaborative company recruit a Game Designer, and this full-time role comes with an attractive contract rate.

The game is a decision-based branching narrative with scenarios grounded in real-life experiences that incorporate active problem-solving to develop confidence in key life skills and foster positive social change.

In your first few weeks in this Game Designer role, you can expect to:

  • Create a cohesive, engaging experience that combines learning content, character-based scenarios and playful interactions 

  • Identify user stories and tasks to meet milestones and estimate work appropriately 

  • Operate in-engine within a specific toolset 

  • Be aware of the right balance to get the best results in line with the project constraints and be flexible and adaptable to change where necessary. 

To apply for this Game Designer role, your soft skills, expertise, and experience should include:

  • Experience in design for branching narrative games, particularly visual novel-style games 

  • An understanding of different learning frameworks, including problem-based learning, narrative learning and experiential learning and how to apply them in an interactive context 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a good ability to express ideas and reasoning to key stakeholders 

  • The ability to execute the design that meets the clients, audiences and project needs
