Skillsearch is helping a Copenhagen-based games studio find and hire an Environment Artist to join a team developing a new video game. This full-time Environment Artist role comes with a generous salary and benefits package.

As an Environment Artist, you will be involved in all aspects of creating the environments from start to finish. From idea generation, gray boxing, asset creation, modelling, texturing, materials, sculpting, propping, polish and optimisation.

In your first few weeks in this Environment Artist role, you can expect to:

  • Block out gray box levels, meeting level design, metrics, and cinematic requirements 

  • Share knowledge to team members as needed and collaborate in achieving outstanding environments 

  • Translate concepts into producible game assets by creating modular and reusable assets 

  • Be responsible for the final art asset production for certain parts of the game. 

To apply for this Environment Artist role, you will need to be a well-versed game artist who has worked on at least one AAA title. You will also require the following:

  • An in-depth understanding of the technical limitations and requirements for in-game art making 

  • Experience working cross-disciplinary, with direction, environment artists, technical artists and level designers, among other disciplines 

  • Experience in one or more 3D applications (3ds Max, Maya, or other).
