Do you have software engineer experience, and are you seeking a new job in Farnborough? Skillsearch is working with a collaborative company who are looking for a full-time Engineering Manager, and the role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package.

As a flexible Engineering Manager, you will support the development of innovative features and robust code systems.

In your first few weeks in this Engineering Manager role, you can expect to:

  • Organise, support and empower the code team 

  • Appraise the skill balance and career trajectory of each team member to optimise assignments and inform recruitment strategy 

  • Liaise with the Technical Director and Production Department to ensure code needs are met across concurrent developments 

  • Work with Principal programmers to identify areas or individuals in need of mentoring, support or further development 

To apply for this role, you must be an organised and efficient manager, able to triage and prioritise effectively through full product life cycles. You'll also need to be:

  • An accomplished programmer with proven talent planning, coding and debugging complex systems to schedule 

  • Proven expertise in at least one professional OO language; preferably C++, C# etc 

  • A holder of excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to talk to company members and other disciplines in a clear and concise manner 

  • A practical and balanced style, with a calm approach to resolving issues
