If you have a passion for game development, strong C skills, and want to work on the biggest MMO games, we want to hear from you. Skillsearch is helping a gaming studio in Berlin recruit a full-time Engine Programmer, and the role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package.

As an Engine Programmer at DECA, you will work with the core engineering team to develop free-to-play MMORPG games on PC and console. You will be working with a team of talented software engineers to architect, build and maintain exceptional gameplay systems and powerful tools.

To give you an idea of how this role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

  • Work with artists and designers to develop new features, debug content setup, and more 
  • Work with other engineers, including cross-team, in a collaborative fashion and work with game team QA on developing test plans for new releases 
  • Work on game client, game server, in-game editors, and content pipeline tools 
  • Own OS support for PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows 
  • Own release branch merge approval and get game client/server fixes pushed to live. 

To succeed in this Engine Programmer job, you will need to be highly proficient in C programming and debugging. You will also require the following:

  • Experience with Windows game development 
  • Experience with Console development for PlayStation and Xbox 
  • Proficiency in profiling code for performance, including on console 
  • Expertise with OS level constructs, including files, locks, threads, etc. 
  • Experience with multi-threaded code, including debugging 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
