Remote Engine Programmer

Are you an experienced Engine Programmer that enjoys creating beautiful code as much as helping others with their pipelines, bug reports and feature requests?

This studio is looking for an Engine Programmer to join them and help grow their diverse and inclusive team. They are a leading developer of games and one of the biggest indie studios in Europe – so you’ll have the chance to work on some exciting unreleased titles while also helping them to create an impressive range of media from books and comics to TV and film!

Please note this role is remote within Europe only.

Engine Programmer responsibilities:

  • Develop and write clean, clear, maintainable engine code
  • Work across all platforms from prototypes to new technologies
  • Take ownership of the solving of technical problems including helping others to identify issues, debugging and profiling
  • Work with existing code and systems to support pipelines and other programmers in the team
  • Work on feature requests and bug reports as raised by other members of the team
  • Use your experience in this role and other studios to identify new tools, techniques and processes that will benefit the team

Essential requirements for this remote role:

  • Superb C/C++ programming skills and examples of clear, maintainable coding from previous projects
  • Ideally 3 years of experience working on console video games although this can be negotiable with other relevant experience
  • Experience with debugging, profiling and optimising
  • Previous experience joining a studio with a large existing codebase and the ability to learn quickly in areas such as new systems, concepts and implementations.
  • You will need to be able to communicate with the team across disciplines and seniorities.
  • It would also be beneficial if you have experience with other programming languages and/or specific areas of engine code i.e., graphics, tool, networking etc.

Could this be the role for you? If you think so, contact Ryan on rt@skillsearch.com or apply using the form below.
