Are you a talented Character Artist looking to join a collaborative team in crafting high-quality characters and skins that captivate and resonate with players? Skillsearch is helping a popular IP in Unreal Engine 5 find a full-time Character Artist for a remote role. The Character Artist will collaborate with concept, rigging, animation, and game design teams to ensure characters align with game design and technical standards. As a community-driven studio, their core mission is to develop games that resonate with players. They firmly believe that incorporating community feedback is essential to crafting immersive gaming experiences that players simply won't want to pause.

If you were already in this Character Artist role, here are some areas you might have worked in this week:

  • Design and develop realistic, high-quality, real-time characters 

  • Create clean game topology, bakes, UVs, and textures 

  • Implement and configure characters within Unreal Engine 5 

  • Offer support to the Tech Animation team 

We are looking for a Character Artist with at least 2 years of experience as a Character Artist and a portfolio showcasing multiple completed real-time characters. Additional qualifications include:

  • Ability to create humanoid, creature, and hard-surface characters 

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Maya 

  • Strong sculpting skills in ZBrush 

  • Experience texturing with Substance Painter 

  • Familiarity with PBR texture/material workflows
