Scopely is looking for a Senior Games Researcher to join an ambitious new AAA cross-platform game coming to PC, consoles, and mobile in the US on a remote basis!

What You Will Do

  • The role is expected to lead user research on games that drive a greater understanding of our players and their experiences
  • Design, implement, and lead high-impact research to support several cross-functional teams, including game design, UX design, product management, production, and marketing
  • Carries out research using a variety of methodologies but not limited to playtesting, usability testing, focus groups, cognitive load testing, interviews, heuristic evaluations, and exploratory research
  • Manage end-to-end quantitative and qualitative research studies such as customer satisfaction surveys, feature development and prioritization, positioning research, etc.
  • Utilizes multiple sources of research/data to identify actionable insights
  • Communicates findings and recommendations to teams for discussion and application.
  • Collaborate with fellow researchers about new research techniques and methodologies

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA/Masters/Ph.D. preferred
  • 6+ years of industry experience conducting research in the gaming space or a related field
  • Passion for gaming and a strong understanding of core loops and monetization of console/PC games.
  • Eagerness to learn and build research skillset
  • Experience designing and executing a variety of qualitative and quantitative methodologies that have driven key insight into game development
  • Experience designing and conducting usability research/playtests
  • Experience working with and managing projects with research vendors
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and project management skills
  • Ability to build relationships that allow you to influence cross-functional teams
  • Attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a drive to answer complex questions
  • Familiarity with online survey software tools (e.g., Decipher, Qualtrics, Survey Gizmo/Alchemer, ) and remote user testing platforms (e.g. Playtest Cloud, UserZoom, Usertesting.com) a plus.
  • Experience with analytics software tools like SPSS and SQL is a plus.


For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY and WA, the annual salary range is $80,000 - $140,000 plus equity, bonus and benefits including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time-off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience .
