Rebellion North are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to work on Rebellion games as well as trusted industry partners on genre-defining AAA IPs. You will have the opportunity to join an ambitious team working on multiple projects using different engines including Unreal 5. Join us as we shoot for the stars!
You will be joining the talented Rebellion North studio based in our Wakefield Location. Rebellion North are a dynamic and growing team who relish challenges and punching above their weight. The Opportunity
You will work to deliver backend services that support both our live games and internal tools. This new role provides the successful candidate with an opportunity to architect and own a wide range of new services.
Responsibilities
- You will be assisting a team of developers to deliver live services for titles using UE5.
- Plan, research and architect new services based on priorities from stakeholders.
- Working with Design and Network teams to turn feature designs into robust, scalable geolocated services and tools.
- Provide technical leadership by establishing and maintaining best practices across the team.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues in production and development environments.
Requirements - Professional experience of being involved in strategic discussions and decisions.
- Experience with at least one Cloud Provider such as PlayFab/Azure/GCP/AWS.
- Expert in at least one server-side language and framework.
- Proven experience building and running scalable, maintainable and robust microservices.
- Working knowledge of technologies such as Nginx, MySQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, Prometheus, Docker and Kubernetes.
- Previous games industry experience would be a plus.
- Working knowledge of C++ would be advantageous.
