Title: Translation Lead
Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 18:00 (circa)
Type: 3 Months fixed term contract, studio based
Location: Braga, Portugal


PTW is currently recruiting a Translation Lead for our global Translation operation.

You will take full ownership for the running and reporting of all client projects and support the rest of the team in case of illness, holiday or ad-hoc coverage.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

Planning

  • Defines the scope of the project in collaboration with the senior Project Manager. This includes reviewing workload information as provided by the customer and available in tools.
  • Creates a schedule for project completion that allocates the available resources effectively.
  • Reviews the project schedule with Management and help secure the resources for the effective running of all client tasks and other projects using required tools and software.
  • Identifies risks and raises them to Management.


Production
  • Maintains a good working relationship with the client.
  • Establishes and oversees all the operations involved in the smooth and successful completion of each project phase.
  • Shares resource requirements with Management.
  • Ensures that tasks are delivered on time.
  • Establishes a clear communication workflow with client to keep them updated on progress.
  • Effectively uses all forms of communication available (email, Teams, etc).
  • Keeps all records for the project up to date and effectively reports on projected workload and actual workload based on client-specific trackers.


Team Management
  • Maintains discipline (ensuring that the teams are adhering to the company policies and act appropriately within company premises).
  • Proactively manages different personalities (ensure that there are no conflicts inside the teams and deal with arising conflicts appropriately).
  • Trains new members of staff as required.
  • Reviews the quality of the work on the project on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the required standards.
  • Provides support to ensure the team's working conditions are adequate and liaises with other departments to ensure capacity plans are in place.


Financial Control
  • Together with the management team takes responsibility for the GM of the projects.
  • Has ownership of the invoicing process for the projects.


Other
  • Is responsive in email and chat communications, ensuring clarity in all messages sent.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal teams.
  • Adheres to company Security, Confidentiality and Health and Safety procedures and ensure the compliance of the team.
  • Adheres to the company IT and HR procedures and ensures the compliance of the team.
  • Understands ethical behaviour and business practices and ensures that their own behaviour and the behaviour of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organisation.

Requirements

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills (preferred)
  • Must have the Right to Work in Portugal
  • At least two years of experience in the video games industry
  • Experience managing translation projects
  • Excellent knowledge of business software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office)
  • Technically savvy
  • Fast learner
  • Clear and effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Capable of leading teams
  • Demonstrates proactivity
  • Ability to develop new ways to improve operations and to create opportunities
  • Good organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Keeps a "can do" attitude and positive thinking


Qualifications

Ideally translation or language-related BA studies or other European equivalents.

Additional Information

Flexibility to work unsociable hours - at times could be required to work shifts, weekends or overtime during the week.

Proficiency in more than one language is welcome. The working language in the company is English.
