Playground Games is looking for Senior Vehicle Artist to join our talented Forza Horizon team here in Leamington Spa on a permanent basis.

As a premier first-party Xbox Game Studio, we are passionate about making genre-defining games that are accessible, beautiful, and most of all fun. We are looking to expand our diverse team as we continue driving forward our BAFTA award-winning Forza Horizon franchise.

About the role:

As a Senior artist you'll support the Vehicle Team with your industry experience and knowledge as well as working with other departments to improve and optimise our workflows and pipeline. The successful candidate will have an excellent knowledge of modern 3D art techniques including Substance Designer/Painter, a strong portfolio of 3D vehicle work and be a highly motivated team player.

This role is based in our state-of-the-art studio in Leamington Spa, with a hybrid work model in place. Relocation assistance is available if required.

What you'll do:

  • Working as part of a team supporting vehicle content for Forza Horizon.
  • Deliver work on time and to a high standard.
  • Identify emerging risks and issues to raise with your Lead/Principal.
  • Managing asset data and Vehicle Pipeline tooling.
  • Actively mentor, guide and assist teammates.
  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with other disciplines.


What you'll bring:

  • A solid understanding of 2D texturing in both Substance and Photoshop.
  • Exceptional 3D modelling of vehicles, particularly cars (high and low poly).
  • Excellent comprehension of mesh topology, flow and optimisation techniques for games.
  • Strong PBR texturing and workflow knowledge.
  • A highly critical and methodical approach to work and quality.
  • Strong organisational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • 5+ years experience working with vehicles in the games industry.
  • A passion for vehicles and motorsport.
  • A professional and methodical approach to tasks.
  • Demonstrate continual improvement of artistic and technical skills.


DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent knowledge of Substance Designer/Painter.
  • 5+ years experience working with vehicles in the games industry.
  • A passion for vehicles and motorsport.
  • A professional and methodical approach to tasks.
  • Demonstrate continual improvement of artistic and technical skills.
