We're looking for a Senior Combat Designer, to join the team working on an exciting new open world IP. As part of the gameplay design team the Senior Combat Designer will play a key part in shaping the combat experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating thrilling combat mechanics and encounters.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with other departments to bring core features to life
  • Create and maintain combat system documentation
  • Champion player experience and combat gameplay
  • Design melee and ranged combat systems, enemies and encounters
  • Analyse play test feedback to improve the combat systems
  • Mentor junior designers
  • Collaborate with animation, engineering, art and audio teams to create visceral and stylish combat


Job requirements

Required Experience
  • Previous experience on third person actions games as a combat designer
  • Experience with melee action or third person shooter combat systems
  • Desire to create excellent moment to moment gameplay.
  • Passion for combat and action games

Important:

The interview process for the Senior Combat Designer role is made up of 3 stages:
  • First interview (45 - 60 minutes) - An interview to discuss your experience and working history relating to the position with members of our Design team. In return, we will provide a full overview of the role, life at the studio as well as answer any questions you may have.
  • Second Interview (30 minutes) - An interview with our Studio Creative Director to discuss your experience, ways of working and the position on offer.
  • Final interview (30 minutes) - A final Interview with our Studio Head and Studio Production Director. This will be a chance for you to get to know the Senior Management team and all the things that make Lucid, Lucid! You will have a lot of opportunities to ask any questions about the studio and Culture.
