Are you an experienced technology & people leader with an interest in business, confident in navigating the interface between technology, business and product?

The Soda team is hiring a Technical Lead to support our Engineers and QAs, and to provide the technical leadership to complete our product strategy. You will be part of the Area leadership team, working in close collaboration with leaders in Product, Analytics & Creative as well as partners from our Marketing and Platform teams.

We create, run and optimize time-limited player experiences which drive engagement and retention in an entrepreneurial way. We are a fast paced, innovative team, with a focus on outstanding experiences which are time-limited, fresh and best-in-class to our players at Soda. Our ambition is simple - to make our players play more and more often.

The Technical Lead role spans three core areas of responsibility:

  • Providing technical leadership in the area
  • Full ownership of the technical strategy and roadmap (definition, alignment and execution)
  • Management of the technical team in the Area - Engineers and QAs

In this role you will translate our business needs and the product vision into the area tech strategy and play an integral part in finding, retaining, and developing the best talent. You will be an accomplished team builder, who knows what good looks & the ability to establish & develop a successful, well- functioning, right- sized team capable of delivering extraordinary experiences to our players!

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Technical performance and quality of the Area game components
  • Developing a tech strategy that defines how technology will be leveraged to achieve goals and objectives
  • Equip the tech team with the right tools, skills, and processes
  • Collaborate to drive innovation & bring new business opportunities to the area through technology advancements
  • Lead, develop, mentor, and grow technical specialists as part of cross- functional teams within the area.
  • Embed established Soda Tech best practices and actively promote software industry standards into the area's development process
  • Empower and equip your team to take the right technical decisions, prioritize needs and set goals
  • Build, maintain and nurture relationships between product areas, specially on the engineering side
  • Engage with collaborators (internal and external to the area) to define and align on the area's technical roadmap
  • Work with the rest of your product area's counterparts, Soda's central tech team and other platform teams across the Kingdom to ensure cohesion, compliance and alignment
  • Ownership of the employee lifecycle: recruiting, onboarding, performance management, recognition and talent retention

We are looking for someone with a consistent track record of software development and technical excellence and a passion for team building. You are humble and open with a down to earth attitude and motivated by working in a fun, inclusive and diverse organization.

Required skills & experience
  • A guide engineer who is still able to contribute to the code base
  • Architecting and crafting sophisticated systems
  • Confirmed experience of leading and building engineering teams
  • Performance management and career development of engineers
  • Ability to plan and deliver solutions that take into account both current and future needs
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • You have extensive experience working in C++
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • You speak both technical and business languages


Bonus
  • You have prior experience in the gaming industry leading client teams
  • Have know-how in project management
  • You have in depth knowledge of modern C++ language
