As a General Artist, you will be part of our interdisciplinary team, supporting our art team, shaping and aiding the creation of visually stunning and easy-to-use interfaces for our line-up of online games and other unannounced titles.

In this role, you will work closely with and respond to the requirements set by the Art Director and Project Producer, ensuring that the designs align with the overall artistic vision and project goals and deliver high-quality work within agreed timelines. This role requires a combination of a strong understanding of game development and art creation processes with a proactive approach to research and idea contribution, to transform conceptual models and images into final products which enhance the gaming experience for millions of our players.

Responsibilities

  • A strong understanding of the broader game development and art creation process
  • Asset creation, including concepting, modeling, texturing and rendering
  • Lighting and basic compositing
  • Mastery of Photoshop for image editing is a must
  • Working closely with leads and other departments to achieve desired look and quality
  • Working to schedule and delivering work to agreed timelines
  • Supplementing briefs with your own research and ideas while ensuring delivery of core requirements
  • Working from concept ideas and images to turn them into final game assets

Job Requirements

Essential Skills:
  • Prior experience working on games
  • Demonstrable experience of using 3D software within a production environment
  • Experience modeling in Maya / 3ds Max and or Blender
  • Experience with Substance Painter
  • Strong understanding of composition, light and colour
  • Knowledge of rendering techniques and optimization processes to speed up render times
  • Ability to take direction positively and working within a team
  • Ability to problem solve and predict potential problems with assigned tasks
  • Strong communication skills are critical as is high attention to detail
  • Solid work ethic and a positive attitude in the face of challenging situations
  • Strong time management and organisation skills
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years production experience
  • If candidates do not possess a degree, 5 years production experience required
  • Degree and work experience requirements may be waived if candidates can show exceptional skills
  • Portfolio: You need to showcase a portfolio that demonstrates your skills as an artist.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with Zbrush and Figma
  • Passion for video games and game development
