We're working with Guildford based Hello Games in the search for a Senior Graphics/Engine Programmer to join their team and help play an important role in developing innovative, meaningful, and technically exciting games. The team at Hello Games craft AAA quality games whilst enjoying the creative freedom of an independent studio.

As a Graphics/Engine Programmer you will be part of a humble yet ambitious team developing AAA quality titles. You will be joining a studio with a flat structure which means you will have authority and independence over your own work and are expected to be self-sufficient and determined to create great quality work.

Hello Games, are a small talented independent video game developer and publisher, they are well-known for working on hugely successful award-winning titles such as No Man's Sky, Joe Danger, and The Last Campfire.

Your responsibilities will include...

  • Leveraging your technical knowledge to optimize, maintain and develop core areas of their bespoke engine
  • Use feedback from those around you to drive the design and iterations of new features and games
  • Collaborate across departments and prioritise your own workload
  • Be self-sufficient and help to drive the game forward with the rest of the team
The skills and experience you'll bring to the role...
  • 4 years of software development experience in C++ or a similar language
  • Passionate, self-motivated, and confident to independently drive work to completion
  • Effective communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment
  • Strong understanding of optimization and low-level engineering
  • Familiarity with all phases of game development
