Blazing Griffin are on the lookout for a Gameplay Animator to join their BAFTA-award winning studio and make their mark on the development of Blazing Griffin's upcoming action/adventure titles for next gen consoles and PC.

As a Gameplay Animator at Blazing Griffin, you'll be responsible for creating high-quality animations for gameplay and cinematics; defining and then working in the full pipeline from rigging to animating to implementation into engine.

You will collaborating with devs in the Art, Design and Code teams to find creative and technical solutions to create brilliantly animated games, using your love of animation and your curiosity surrounding the technology and techniques behind it to explore and discover new tools and skills.

Your responsibilities will also include...

  • Creating and implementing character rigs and animations that meet the project brief
  • Compose and animate game cutscenes in-engine
  • Develop and improve animation pipelines
  • Implement outsourced art assets when necessary
The skills and experience you'll bring to the role...
  • Professional experience animating video games
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating strong animation principles
  • Professional experience using Maya or similar tools to rig and animate
  • Professional experience of working with the Unity game engine
Advantageous but not essential...
  • Knowledge of Motion Builder
  • An understanding of Unreal Engine
  • An appreciation and understanding of cinematic techniques
  • Experience with 3D art creation (Prop modelling, characters, etc.)
  • Experience with VFX and lighting techniques
  • Knowledge of motion capture tools and clean-up
  • Scripting in Mel/Python/C++, etc.
  • Experience with state machines
