Lead Technical Artist in Brighton

As a Lead Technical Artist at this studio in Brighton, you will be working on a brand new, exciting project, looking after your team and mentoring junior members, whilst also offering technical support and ensuring you keep up to date with industry trends, as well as a whole lot more.

As an established AAA studio, the team here have worked on several world-class titles for some huge world-famous clients. If you’re passionate, enthusiastic and want to make a difference and leave your stamp on the industry, this role is for you. Lead Technical Artist key responsibilities:

  • Lead the team to identify, plan and implement solutions to support content creation 
  • Manage a project’s technical art team 
  • Mentor junior members of the team 
  • Oversee game performance and ensure the art team keeps to targets 
  • Understand emerging trends and technologies in video games 
  • Make recommendations to how trends may impact a project 
  • Offer technical support 

Essential requirements for this role in Brighton:

  • Professional experience as a Technical Artist 
  • Have worked on one or more shipped AAA console game 
  • Understanding of modern game content creation processes 
  • Knowledge of DCC software such as Maya, Houdini, Blender, Substance, etc. 
  • Strong knowledge of game engines such as Unreal and Unity 
  • Able to develop tools and workflow enhancements using scripting languages 
  • Understanding of rendering pipelines 
  • Passionate about games

As well as the lanes, Brighton is famous for its stunning beach, which is certainly a tourist spot come summertime. You can sit on the pebbles with an ice cream, go for a stroll down the Palace Pier, or even take a swim around the old West Pier, an iconic landmark in the city.

As well as the landmarks, Brighton is famous for being a hugely welcoming and accepting city, there is no way anyone could feel out of place thanks to its vastly diverse culture, you will find people from all walks of life in this city. Just outside of the city lies the South Downs, with plenty of scenery and wildlife available to explore, highlights include Devils Dyke and Ditchling Beacon, which offer a stunning respite from city life.
