Rogue Sun - Guildford, UK

Rogue Sun is a team of digital dreamers based in the leafy location of Guildford. They are currently seeking a UI/UX Artist to join their growing team. Collectively, they have a huge amount of top-level experience in creating genre-defining classics.

Founded in 2016, by a trio of developers who first met at the historic Lionhead Studios, Rogue Sun has been working on titles with the likes of Oculus and Sony! They are now focused on a new PC and next-gen console game in the Strategy / Management genre, backed by a major publisher.

The role in question will present an exciting challenge for a Senior or Lead Animator! You will be the sole permanent Animator of the team, responsible for all things animation. From directing mocap, refining and taking responsibility for the whole pipeline, to managing and working effectively with outsource and external teams where necessary.

The wealth of experience you can bring to the role can be varied. Maybe you're a seasoned Animation Lead, or even a Director! You could be a Senior Animator, with a wide skill set, that is ready for that next step up. If you'd be confident doing the following, we'd love to hear from you!

Your day-to-day will include:

Building good working practices from the ground-up

Collaborating and consulting with team members and stakeholders at all levels of the studio

Defining and owning animation practices and workflows within the studio

Being directly involved with the implementation of animation

Communicating and assisting in the management of external collaborators

The skills and XP you'll need to succeed include:

AAA games animation experience as a Senior or higher member of staff

Experience working with Mocap data in Maya and/or Mobile Builder

A showreel demonstrating your experience

For this generalist role,the following skills would be beneficial; facial animation, directing mocap on-site, technical animation (rigging and skinning), and scripting skills such as Python, Mel or similar

Remote working could be considered for this position, but if you are able to work from the Guildford studio then this would be beneficial.
