Engine Programmer in Irvine

As an Engine Programmer at this studio based in Irvine, California, you will be working on a remote basis temporarily due to the current climate with COVID. You will be working on all things Unreal Engine, from developing new engine systems, to fixing bugs, to proposing engine improvements, working with a dedicated team to create some impressive AAA role-playing games.

Engine Programmer key responsibilities:

  • Analyse and improve performance across target platforms
  • Develop new and existing systems for managing memory and streaming
  • Fix any crashes, concurrency issues and other platform problems
  • Propose improvements to engine processes

Essential requirements for this role in Irvine:

  • Be a passionate gamer and passionate about making games
  • Extensive prior industry experience in developing for PC and consoles
  • Interested in analysing and optimising game and engine code
  • Experience of multithreaded programming
  • Proficient in C/C++
  • University degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or Engineering or similar
  • Experience of working in Unreal Engine
