MachineGames is looking for a talented 3D Animator. In this role you will become part of a cross-functional team, building a game from the drawing board through launch. You’ll be working closely with artists, designers, and engineers. The role entails all aspects of 3D animation in relation to gameplay. This is a permanent position, with start as soon as we find the right candidate.  

Our studio is located in central Uppsala, Sweden which is a small and vibrant city 30 minutes north of Stockholm with a historical heritage reaching back to pre-medieval times. It also has the oldest and one of the largest universities in northern Europe.

This is a permanent position starting as soon as possible. We will support your relocation and/or application for work permit if you have a non-EU passport and/or not currently residing in Sweden

  • You have 3+ years working experience in game development (Console, PC or Mobile) 
  • 3 + years of experience of keyframe character animation in MotionBuilder, 
  • Good understanding of the animation development pipeline 
  • Experience of rigging and skinning is a plus 
  • Scripting skills are also a plus (python, mel) 
  • Maya experience is a plus 
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues 
  • You are also proactive, solutions oriented and positive 
  • As well as motivated and creative with strong commitment to quality 
  • Make the different game assets come to life, such as humans and creatures, using keyframe animation and motion editing in MotionBuilder 
  • Edit and polish motion capture data to the highest standard, enhancing the performance where needed 
  • Work with technical artists and other team members to solve resource-restricted tech challenges 
  • Coordinate use of in-house mocap system to record animation data 
  • Communicate needs and requirements to any out-of-team or external dependencies 
  • Evaluate externally created animation assets for quality and technical compliance 
  • Retargeting of animation assets
