Haunted Chocolatier Is “Way Bigger” Than Stardew Valley, Says ConcernedApe

Eric Barone, better known online as ConcernedApe, has shared a fresh update on Haunted Chocolatier - and it sounds like the upcoming title could be significantly larger in scope than Stardew Valley.

Speaking about development on the project, Barone explained that Haunted Chocolatier has been more challenging to work on than Stardew Valley due to the game’s expanded scale and ambition. According to comments referenced by multiple reports, “everything is cranked up” compared to his previous hit farming simulator.

While Stardew Valley focused heavily on farming and slow-paced progression, Haunted Chocolatier appears to be pushing further into action, exploration, atmosphere, and larger gameplay systems. Barone has also suggested the game contains more detailed mechanics and a broader overall structure, helping explain why development has taken longer than some fans expected.

Despite the extended wait, excitement surrounding the game remains extremely high. Stardew Valley has become one of the most beloved indie games of all time, and many players are eager to see what ConcernedApe creates when given the opportunity to build something with a larger scope from the very beginning.

Although there’s still no confirmed release date for Haunted Chocolatier, the latest comments suggest the project continues to grow into something far more ambitious than simply “another Stardew Valley.”

For fans of cozy games, indie RPGs, and life simulators, Haunted Chocolatier is quickly shaping up to be one of the most anticipated indie releases currently in development.
