Bigpoint, a leading online game developer and publisher, has hired Brian Morrisroe as Creative Director, and Julien Proux as Director of Art and Content Production. Both new roles will be based at Bigpoint’s Headquarters in Hamburg.
Brian Morrisroe has over 17 years of professional experience in the gaming industry. During his six years tenure at Blizzard Entertainment he notably acted as Art Lead for World of Warcraft and Art Director for Diablo III, he established the visual style and drove the art direction for both titles. His contributions helped ship over 15 million units worldwide, including other blockbuster titles such as Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 2. In 2008, he co-founded Booyah, a mobile company focused on location-based gaming where he notably acted as Chief Creative Officer and then CEO. At Bigpoint, Morrisroe will be responsible for fostering the creative environment and guide the creative direction across the company’s portfolio.

Julien Proux has 18 years of experience creating and growing international AAA game studios. Most recently, he was the Studio Art Director for Activision in China, setting up the art department and ensuring a graphical quality in line with the Call Of Duty franchise. Prior to that, he was the Senior Art Director for Assassin’s Creed 3 in Singapore, helping create the ground breaking visuals of the naval battles. Past highlights of Julien’s career include Need for Speed with Electronic Arts Vancouver, and founding the studio behind “Sleeping Dogs”: United Front Games, also in Vancouver. At Bigpoint he will help focus, structure and align the art teams with the company creative and economic goals.
