We are Criterion. We love games.

We’re Criterion Games. You’ll know us from the Burnout series, Black, Need For Speed (Hot Pursuit & Most Wanted), the critically acclaimed VR mission for Star Wars Battlefront and more recently Starfighter Assault on Battlefront ll. After years of dominating the driving scene, we are growing our team to work on projects that will extend our reputation as a ground-breaking British studio, bringing cutting-edge technology and innovation together to make awesome new AAA games.

Our studio is an exciting place to work. Criterion Games seeks out the most creative, passionate and talented people in the industry and we give them an environment where creative collaborations flourish. As a studio, we’re passionate about inspiring, supporting, educating and working with a new generation of game makers as well as experienced industry veterans.

The Challenge Ahead:

Criterion is fortunate enough to work on some of the biggest games EA makes. We are currently working on an exciting new game mode for one of EAs leading franchises which will make players go wild! As a Technical Designer you will be responsible for implementing features using a proprietary visual programming system and to collaborate closely with designers, producers and QA to iterated them into the best possible experiences available for a player. You’ll also work with engineers to direct the building blocks you need as well as level designers to integrate the features seamlessly into the world.

The next great Criterion Technical Designer also needs:

A strong grasp of mathematics with an ability to build out clear and concise logical flows of design. They will need to be a driven person who is able to work well as part of a larger feature team. A Technical Designer needs to be good at communicating and able to find the right balance between prototyping something quickly and implementing it properly to a bug-free, maintainable, extensible, high quality.
