Capcom Vancouver continues to develop new and exciting projects, and we’re growing in the process! With unique projects in development, we’re recruiting smart, passionate and dedicated professionals to work with us on the next generation of video gaming.

Having successfully led multiple titles from start to finish as a Technical Director, you know what it takes to steer an engineering team around the numerous challenges involved in AAA game development.  You’ve ensured that requested designs are technically feasible, that project schedules include appropriate time for everything related to delivering features (including iteration, reviews, bug fixes, optimization as appropriate, and more), and that people of all disciplines have the proper tools and workflows to efficiently deliver their best possible work.  You’ve demonstrated a clear ability to setthe direction for large, multi-disciplinary groups, and know when to halt or change direction in response to new information.  While you have the ability to get your hands dirty in the C++ codebase (and enjoy doing so!), you know when it’s appropriate to do this and when to delegate to others.  While you appreciate elegant systems, you’re pragmatic enough to select between the “right” solution and the “right now” solution, and understand how this evolves over the lifetime of a project.

You’re looking for a new challenge, one that not only builds upon your proven game team leadership experience but also gives you the flexibility to stay directly involved with the direction, architecture, and implementation of a proven proprietary, continually-developed multiplatform next-generation engine.  You’re also looking to help continue to build and grow a solid engineering team, providing mentorship across all levels, from new grads through seasoned industry veterans.  You have a passion for keeping up-to-date with where the industry is going and use this knowledge to have your team push the boundaries on what is possible on modern hardware.


Reporting to the studio’s Director of Product Development and partnering with one of our other Technical Directors, you will continue building on the aforementioned skills by leading the engineering efforts on one of our AAA, next-generation titles.  You will be responsible for the planning and execution of all technical deliverables throughout the project. To do so, you will play a key role in determining the size and structure of the engineering team and be given the flexibility to determine and set engineering approaches and architecture across all project-specific areas.  As project needs dictate, you will act as the team’s technical representative with other groups including studio executive, other divisions within Capcom worldwide, middleware vendors, first parties and more.

Using your demonstrated architectural skills, you will also be a key participant in helping set the direction for our next-gen strategy for our in-house engine, including workflows, tools, pipelines, and runtime components.  You will ensure the efforts of your team not only meet the needs of your project but also that these contribute back to the long-term growth of the studio.  


    • Have been credited on multiple AAA game titles as a Technical Director
    • Demonstrated expertise in C++, including the ability to architect and effectively review code across multiple sub-disciplines
    • Expert level knowledge in 3D math
    • Ability to juggle multiple concurrent priorities, both for your own tasks and those delegated to others
    • Take an active interest in enhancing current skills and learning new ones
    • Regularly innovates craft and process adopted by own game and other games
    • Demonstrate dedication, adaptability & accountability in your work and areas of responsibility
    • Drive collaboration effectively with others in the same discipline, across feature groups and cross-discipline on a regular basis; work closely with game & studio exec teams
    • Must be able to mentor leads and groups
