For our European office we are looking for a PR Manager to run the European product and corporate PR efforts. The PR Manager is responsible for securing press coverage, generating hype and building relationships with both traditional and online media throughout Europe. The PR Manager will be responsible to create and execute PR plans, plan and manage PR budgets, plan and execute press events and game demos and work closely with internal and external teams, including our PR agencies.
Plan and develop AAA PR programs and campaigns to enhance awareness of the company's product(s). This will include consulting with management and working directly with EU/US PR, community, legal and marketing teams on strategic planning and execution.
Plan and execute strong social media strategies together with the marketing team.
Build and maintain strong relationships with EU games media and partners to ensure the best coverage of the product(s) possible.
Build and maintain strong relationship with broader range of EU media and partners.
Conduct and analyse market research data to define product positioning, as well as monitor competitive activity and identify consumer needs.
Identify key-success factors for the game, build its final positioning and benchmark analysis against consumer research studies.
Work closely with internal teams to create and maintain needed media and press assets.
Plan and execute EU press events and activities such as product launches, games conventions, press tours and trade events.
Deliver well communicated game presentations at PR and corporate events.
Work closely with EU PR agencies and give direction and guidance.
Manage budget allocations effectively, with maximum impact and ensuring all approvals are sought and obtained.
Work to ensure all PR materials, assets and media are localized for each core market.
BA in communications, business or marketing.
5+ years of experience in the EU video games industry, preferable working on MMO titles.
Must have led the development of PR campaign(s), including strategic development and planning, leading internal teams and working with external vendors.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. A second language is a plus.
Established relationship with EU games media and must have a detailed understanding of media, its role within a games marketing campaign, and experience with "core gamer" targeted brands.
Ability to build brands, create and uphold product positioning, set goals and objectives with methods to measure success and failures is crucial.
Must have strong (self-) management skills and be highly organized.
Experience in budget planning and management.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with privileged information, work well with others and handle a high-pressure, fun environment.
Requires frequent travel within Europe and to the USA.
