We linked those worlds with a digital real estate market, complex economic cycles, and our extensive database containing thousands of digital avatars of celebrities, athletes and TV entertainment, in order to create the next step in Virtual Reality: STARAMBA.Spaces.

We are looking for an ambitious Lighting Artist with real-time experience to work on a new kind of virtual reality experience. The project is early stage and in stealth modus. You would be working closely with artists, level designers, riggers, further developers and QA with the overall goal of helping to realize the project's creative vision at the highest level. Qualified candidates need to be motivated and able to operate in a highly dynamic environment and excited about exploring this new medium.

Your tasks


- Use Unreal Engine toolset to light environments and characters for gameplay and cinematic scenes, including prebaked and dynamic lighting, as well as post processing
- Collaborate with game designers to align lighting with gameplay goals
- Achieve highly realistic visuals while maintaining memory and GPU budgets
- Communicate with artist to ensure correct PBR values for coherent lighting
- Participate in R&D of new workflows to implement into the production pipeline


What we expect:

- A minimum of 3 years' professional game development experience, VR experience is a plus
- Strong sense of lighting theory, color space, exposure, natural light, reflections etc.
- Good understanding of cinematography and dramaturgy
- Experience in at least one 3D and one 2D industry standard DCC package
- Proficiency in lighting scenes with the Unreal toolset
- Excellent understanding of technical limitations
- Ability to take on tasks and self-manage on-time delivery
- Self-motivation, good communication skills, and a great team-player attitude
- Experience with Unreal Engine is expected, additional experience with other engines is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in related fields or equivalent extensive work experience
- Fluent in English
- EU citizenship or a valid working permit for Germany
