The Role<span> </span>


At Splash Damage, we create multiplayer combat games that champion team play and promote lifelong friendships. Members of the UI programming team are responsible for implementing memorable front-end and in-game user interfaces. We work closely with other disciplines to help them realise their ideas through rapid prototyping and iterative agile development.<span> </span>


As a UI Programmer, you will work within cross-functional teams to deliver front-end and in-game UI features on-time and to a high level of quality. You are comfortable working with UI middleware to create user-friendly interfaces and assets, with a strong focus on performance and maintainability. You work closely with other departments, such as UX, Art, Design and Gameplay to define UI specifications and ensure that our interfaces achieve a high degree of usability while fulfilling the expected visual and functional requirements.<span> </span>

- Working with members of multiple disciplines to iteratively develop UI assets, interfaces and frameworks that address and achieve the high-level goals of the game.<span> </span>

- Breaking down your work into measurable and achievable tasks.<span> </span>


- Writing clear, maintainable and portable code.<span> </span>

You have:<span> </span>


- Strong practical knowledge of C++, with relevant professional experience.<span> </span>


- The ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members.<span> </span>


- Excellent time management skills and the ability to self-organise.<span> </span>


- The people skills to work collaboratively within a team.<span> </span>


- Professional experience iteratively implementing UI features from inception to delivery.<span> </span>


Even better if you have:<span> </span>


- Professional Unreal Engine 4 development experience.<span> </span>


- Experience with common UI middleware, such as Scaleform or UMG.<span> </span>


- Demonstrable appreciation of usability conventions in relation to UI.<span> </span>


- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.<span> </span>
