Activision is seeking an enthusiastic Data QA Manager to lead the quality assurance processes for a data QA virtual team. The team is committed to ensuring the highest quality of game data to meet studio deadlines and data analytics deliverables. Working in the Vancouver office and reporting to the Director of Data Services, this role will work closely with game engineers, producers, data architects and analytics groups.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with data stakeholders to assess their QA needs and ensure planning is in place to achieve the highest quality results

• Supervise QA testers, orchestrate remote QA team workflows, and liaise with instrumentation engineering teams, data architects and analytics managers as part of a virtual team

• Provide feedback and act as the liaison with analytic management, project management, producers, instrumentation engineering, and other external departments

• Plan with data platform and game client engineers to ensure guidelines and standards compliance

• Manage bug reports, bug database(s) and various QA reports

• Manage virtual team on a day-to-day basis

• Build successful working relationships with all stakeholders

Knowledge and Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Lead, Lead QA Tester or equivalent

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, internally and externally

• Management skills to include: successfully handling ambiguity, flexibility and understanding of the development process, and maintaining good relations with producers and developers

• Knowledge of bug database systems, QA process, test plan creation and bug writing process

• Knowledge of format holder standards (Sony, Microsoft)

• Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Source Control and Visual Studio

• Technically proficient with PCs, gaming consoles and related hardware

• Ability to liaise with other departments

Basic Qualifications:

• PC hardware literate

• Passion for the video games industry

• Willingness to adopt a broad overview of the department and push the boundaries of traditional QA techniques

• Well-developed interpersonal, communication, presentation and management skills

• Must be able to lead and mentor a team

• Attention to detail and positive personality to foster excellent working relationships

• Must be able to communicate effectively and successfully in English, in both written and oral forms

• Hardworking, reliable and punctual, with flexibility to work various hours depending on deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline

• Previous project management experience in a gaming environment
