Role and Purpose
Sumo Digital are delighted to announce the return of our Game Art/Animation undergraduate placement scheme for the academic year 2018/2019.
The scheme is open to promising Art or Animation undergraduates who require an industrial placement in their third year, and we'd love to hear from exceptional artists in a variety of areas - UI, Character, VFX, Environment and Animation.
The scheme offers a fantastic opportunity for talented students to work on and contribute to our live AAA projects, while learning from our hugely talented team. We value highly the contribution that exceptional, undergraduate raw talent can bring to our studio and many undergraduates that have spent their placement year with us have returned to full time employment after graduation.
Applicants must have a passion for videogame art and be averaging a 1st classification in their studies with an exceptional portfolio showcasing their digital and traditional art skills.
The placement will run from September 2018 - September 2019 (with some flexibility) and there are opportunities at our Sheffield and Nottingham studios. We will also consider applications from those looking for shorter undergraduate placements (20-40 weeks) from February 2018 and applications of this nature will be processed before January 2018. Please state clearly on your application the start and end dates required for your placement.
Closing date for applications: Friday 26th January 2018. Interviews will be held in Feb/March 2018, and placements offered in April/May 2018.
