Jagex Games Studio is looking for a Web Systems Developer to join the tribe. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an effective and successful team of software engineers, building and maintaining scalable and highly available business critical systems.

As a team you are responsible for planning you own work.You will get to see this work through from initial design, implementation, testing, all the way through to deploying it to production.

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of awesome products, including our long running flagship MMO RuneScape. The systems you build will help 100s of 1000s of players enjoy the games they love.

Main Duties and Responsibilites:

Extensive experience in Java development
Experience working on scalable highly available systems
Be familiar with using relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL)
Have made use of source control, collaboration and continuous integration tools (e.g. Stash, Bamboo, Jira)
Experience building Websites using HTML, object-orientated JavaScript, CSS
Have tested own and others code to ensure it is of the highest quality
Comfortable investigating and analysing problems and then finding solutions
Willing to learning new things and bringing new ideas to the team
Be willing to turn your hand to anything to get the job done
Ability to work on Windows, *nix and Apple platforms


Desired Skills:
Have previously coded in C#
Confidence in developing a microservices architecture
Proficient using NoSQL databases (e.g. CouchBase)
Have successfully employed automated unit testing
