Reporting to: Localization Manager or his/her nominee

Location: Dublin


About the role:

As a French speaking Localization Specialist you will be part of our localization team in charge of the translation of our games and/or of quality assurance of the translations provided by peers and partners.

Your main duties to edit and proof game content for the relevant portals, ensuring game content adheres to house style and guidelines. Additionally, your tasks will include translations to English.

Job duties:

  • Your main job duties will include but will not be limited to:
  • Translate game content (e.g. expansions), news text or any other ad hoc request in a timely manner
  • Perform quality control of content provided by peers or external partners, proofread and edit game content, news articles and technical documentation
  • Create/gather game specific documentation to ease the translation processes of our games
  • Support the Localisation Manager in the setup and coordination of translation tasks and projects
  • Improve the quality of our localised content whenever time allows
  • Perform research and get familiar with the internally used CAT tool (memoQ)
  • It is a requirement of this role that you translate a minimum of 2500 words per day – where the amount of translation in the relevant queue facilities 2500 words per day (this amount is subject to change case by case or project by project)

  • It is a requirement of this role that you back fill for the role of Game Publishing Specialist as business needs dictate (an outline of the role of Game Publishing Specialist is attached for your information)

  • This role may also require you to participate in testing and supplying feedback on potential new games as and when needed

  • Seminar/ project presentation for of self and other employee training on a yearly basis


Position Requirements

  • Fluent in French and English with excellent verbal and written communication
  • Fluency in other EU languages or Korean would be an advantage
  • At least 1 year of experience in a localisation environment 
  • Knowledge of translation tools, e.g. Trados/memoQ
  • Excellent writing skills in your native language
  • A passion for games and in particular MMORPGs
  • Team-oriented work attitude with an ability to work independently
  • Strong self-motivation and high level of commitment 
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • General familiarity with internet-based applications and text processing
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude
