Jagex has grown organically to become one of the most successful PC online games studio in the world. The company is now looking to expand its portfolio of games to new platforms, geographies and distribution models, all of which will be highly data driven, backed by robust industry and player research.
The research manager will be a key member of the strategy team and spearhead market and player research of Jagex. This individual will also work very closely with the studio’s games development team, marketing department and data sciences team to inform the development process

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand goals and gather research requirements
Select appropriate research methodologies, design test plans using appropriate methodology to meet objectives
Construct, organize and execute studies designed to answer business, development and usability questions
Write up reports on the analysis and come up with impactful recommendations grounded in data
Manage external projects as required, including scoping the research and defining research methodology or briefing an outsourced research coordinator
Source the most appropriate external research agencies for specific research projects, using an outsourced research coordinator where appropriate, ensuring these are delivered on time and to the required standard/specification.
Identify and use the most optimal data visualization methods to present findings
Communicate the results to stakeholders through various means

Knowledge of mobile and free-to-play games market and design trends, and experience in game design a plus.
Experience in player research, user testing, survey studies, product management or other related market research field, with a deep.understanding of user and market research methodologies.
Strong research and experimental design background, including knowledge of various quantitative and qualitative analysis methods
Extensive knowledge of MS Office.
Knowledge in SQL a plus.
Sc or B.Sc in Computer Science, Psychology, Statistics, Mathematics or Human-Computer Interaction, Game Design or related field.
Pro-activity when formulating research questions

Ability to innovate and determine strategies when sending out reports, graphics and representations of statistical data
