Jagex Games Studio are looking for a VFX Artist. The successful candidate will work with the art lead on an unannounced MMO. You will be responsible for producing world class, real-time visual effects ingame that enhance the players' experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Produce high quality real-time visual effects through any stage of the production process in respect of the project’s technical and artistic constraints
Define and refine new and existing FX tools to achieve world class VFX
Test and proactively troubleshoot FX that are not working in the game and help fix them
Have a thorough knowledge of optimization techniques for CPU and GPU limitations over multiple platforms
Plan, estimate and prioritise time frames for the completion of day to day tasks and track progress using the designated tracking tools
Communicate and collaborate with artist,designers and programmers to achieve tasks and maintain consistency of work
Optimise work and maintain balance between VFX quality and performance
Implement and incorporate feedback from Lead Artist and other Leads into work
Understand best practices, production pipelines and workflows for game development
Support the Lead Artist in any ad hoc tasks and duties
Expert knowledge of making real-time VFX using the Unity game engine
Ability to conceptualize abstract concepts into impressive on-screen visuals
Ability to create complex FX while using the most efficient memory footprint possible
Good working knowledge of particle driven effects and shader systems
Good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or After Effects for texture creation
Good working knowledge of Maya with particular emphasis on fluid simulation and rigid body dynamics tools
Good understanding of shaders and their creation
Good understanding of modelling, texture mapping, materials and post processing (e.g. colour grading )
Familiarity with data management software (perforce)
Experience with a scripting language (e.g. Mel, Python) would be an asset
Shader writing is also a big plus (e.g., HLSL)
Experience in game visual effects - 2 Shipped Titles
Bachelor’s degree in visual effects or other relevant training
Experience creating both stylised and realistic VFX
