Role and Purpose

Sumo are looking for an experienced Game Designer to design and hone the core character controls and key gameplay mechanics on a AAA 3rd person action adventure title.

Responsibilities

- Design and develop the player character move set to create a character which is a joy to play.

- Design and develop satisfying co-operative mechanics which are both physical and fun.

- Expand the character move set with innovative use of the platform feature set.

- Partner closely with the Lead Designer, Animation Team, and Project Leads to ensure Code, Art and Design collaborate to create the best possible player experience.

Skills Experience and Qualifications

Required:

- Experience of designing character controls for at least one AAA third-person action title.

- Ability to design and tweak character control metrics.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Openness to constructive criticism, good listening skills and willing to give feedback to others.

Desired:

- Experience with visual scripting (Unity, Unreal etc).

- Experience of designing gameplay mechanics for titles which use physics to drive the gameplay.

- Experience developing co-operative mechanics.
