Capcom Vancouver continues to develop new and exciting projects, and we’re growing in the process! With three unique projects in development, we’re recruiting smart, passionate and dedicated professionals to work with us on the next generation of video gaming


We are looking for a Lead Gameplay Animator that is passionate about creating highly detailed keyframe animation, and gameplay driven mocap-based player actions. Do you have a great understanding of timing and motion as well as the technical problem solving ability needed to troubleshoot gameplay related issues? Then you're probably the person we're looking for.


  • Responsible for driving 3rd person action features from conception to completion
  • Work closely with the core combat gameplay team
  • Creates and implements 3D animation in the game that consistently meets and enhances art direction
  • Participates in pre-visualization and development of animated features of games
  • Provides technical direction and guidance to other animators
  • Demonstrates advanced in-depth expertise with animation
  • Works independently and collaborates with engineering and design to refine features
  • Partners with project managers to develop schedules and budgets
  • Performs one or more of the animation roles: layout, character animation, look development, character simulations, motion capture, and cinematics
  • Solves problems crossing multiple features
  • Uses time effectively
  • Communicates in a clear, positive and professional manner with staff at all levels
  • Focused and highly driven both as an individual and as a senior team member
  • Complete work successfully on or ahead of schedule
  • Able to solve increasingly complex problems and deliver top quality work
  • Able to juggle multiple priorities and contribute to priority setting


  • 5+ years of experience in a lead animation role
  • Solid experience with Maya and Motion Builder
  • Have shipped at least one AAA title
  • Can lead multiple features
  • Excellent mentor
  • Act as a role model
  • May lead a group and help define deliverables
  • Take an active interest in enhancing current skills
  • Demonstrate dedication, adaptability and accountability in your work
  • Operate within established procedures and best practices
  • Collaborate effectively with others in same discipline across feature groups and cross-discipline as required


  • Experience with animating boss battle sequences and AI creatures

PERSONAL SAMPLE WORK REQUIRED: including descriptions and responsibilities.
