Jagex Games Studio is looking an experienced Software Developer who wants to apply their skills in a Big Data, Machine Learning-oriented environment; someone to be our vision-holder for the crucial role that engineering plays in developing and delivering our Data Science products and insight.


You’ll be working with, learning from and enhancing the capabilities of a highly skilled data team, using industry-leading tools in a vibrant, dynamic environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilies:
•As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll lead our extension of Big Data technologies – building pipelines, implementing advanced analytics, and helping transform raw data into insight-ready information.

•On a daily basis, you’ll be able to choose the right tool or language to solve a specific issue, striving to find the best answer using available resources.

•You’ll be in charge of our Data Engineering function, and working closely with Data Scientists as part of a high-performance cross-functional team in all aspects of software design, implementation and testing.

Essential Requirements:
•Solid Linux skills
•Robust Python skillset
•Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem (Spark, Hive, MapReduce)
•Strong team player yet able to work and lead independently
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Desired Requirements:
•Experience building production data pipelines
•Experience building micro-services with RESTful APIs
•Experience using public or private cloud technologies (AWS, OpenStack)
•Additional tools experience (e.g. Scala, Git, PostgreSQL, Vertica, Java, R)
•Interest in Machine Learning, Data Mining, Predictive Analytics
