To help achieve this ambition, we are looking for a Data Scientist, who will work closely with the studio’s stakeholders to further understand, model, predict, segment, and monetize Dovetail’s customers. Reporting into the Programme Manager, they will have the opportunity to guide a fresh new team in an exciting period of growth using data science as a valuable resource, inputting useful information across the wider business from game development teams through to the in-house publishing teams.


  • Build both large systematic reports and one-off small pieces of analysis
  • Provide on-going reporting and performance monitoring from multiple data sources
  • Create and update python computer programs for game analysis
  • Collaborate to the development of interactive applications for data mining and visualization
  • Supporting stakeholder decisions by exposing key performance indicators to them, and helping them understand how players are reacting to changes, and recommend solutions based on your reports and data.
  • Debug and solve issues to ensure delivery of accurate metrics

Person Specifications:

  • Significant experience performing quantitative analysis, preferably for an internet or technology company
  • BSc in Maths, Engineering or other technical field required (MSc. or PhD. is a strong plus)
  • Software engineering skills, Python is a must-have
  • Excellent SQL skills: extensive experience querying large, complex data sets
  • Ability to create complex models and algorithms
  • Understanding of advanced statistical methods
  • Familiar with machine-learning techniques
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enjoy working in both individual and team settings
  • An interest in video games and/or simulation games is desirable
