ABOUT DIRTY BOMB & SPLASH DAMAGE

Dirty Bomb takes first person shooters back to their purest roots in a fast-paced team game that will challenge even the most competent players. It’s the latest evolution in the multiplayer gameplay that Splash Damage has become known for, and is a product of our lifelong passion for hardcore multiplayer gaming!

Splash Damage is an independently-owned studio just outside of the CDA Containment Wall around London, and we're all about crafting engaging multiplayer experiences. We're now expanding our Dirty Bomb team to take it to another level, and are looking for superstars to help us make it happen.

The Role

Dirty Bomb is looking for a talented Environment Artist who has experience in creating aesthetically beautiful environments. You should also be able to demonstrate that you have a level of knowledge in building environments in an efficient modular way.

You will help build on a unique visual identity for Dirty Bomb’s vision of a near future London, as well as ensuring that it meshes seamlessly with gameplay needs and can be produced at a rate that helps the team keep our sometimes insatiable player-base content.

You will be able to demonstrate that they have a level of flexibly when it comes to working between differing stylistic approaches.

You should be able to show that you can have a positive influence on the project by demonstrating a level of passion and commitment to improving the game visually as a whole.

It will be important to show a proactive, courageous approach to tasks and the ability to respond positively to feedback given by the Senior and Leads Artists.

Responsibilities at a Glance

Create new model assets, textures and materials based off concepts and reference
Collaborate with the Art and Design team to create and maintain in-game environments
Maintain a balance between visual quality and performance requirements for real-time game application
Work closely with outsource studios to commission and manage the creation and implementation of new art assets
Benefit the team by sharing the skills you have to offer and continue to grow the teams artistic and technical knowledge
Demonstrate a collaborative, enthusiastic attitude towards games development, helping solve problems for the team, developing workflows and pipelines

Required Skills and Experience

Highly skilled in art asset creation, involving low / high-poly modelling, 2D texture creation and material authoring, involving both hard surface and organic modelling
In-depth knowledge of industry software’s such as Maya, 3D Studio Max, Z-brush, Mudbox, Photoshop, Crazybump, Substance Painter
Experience with using Unreal Editor
At least one shipped AA title
Excellent communication skills

Desired Skills and Experience

Keen interest in FPS games and areas of game creation beyond the environment art discipline
A strong understanding of lighting principals
Basic graphic design knowledge
Experience working with outsourcing management and outsourced asset implantation
