Virtual Reality Toolkit Developer
Based at Wild Rover Productions, Ltd., in Belfast, a well establish worldwide broadcast television production company, you will lead the technical thread of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project between Wild Rover and the University of York. This project aims to develop a toolkit for the software package Unity to help streamline prototyping and production workflow for cinematic VR programmes.
Preferably you will have a PhD in computer science, games design, visual effects or a closely related area. A MSc degree in the same area will also be considered. Experience in Unity scripting is a essential. Knowledge of virtual reality programming is highly desirable.

Recognizing the uptake in Virtual Reality systems, Wild Rover have started to position themselves to be able to generate high quality content for this exciting new medium. This position represents a unique opportunity to work with a top production company in support of developing cutting-edge cinematic VR programmes.
The salary will be fixed and will be up to £30,175 per annum on Grade 5 of the University’s salary scales. There is also an additional £4,000 for training and development.
You will be a University of York employee but be based at Wild Rover Productions Ltd. in Belfast.
The post is available full-time, on a fixed-term contract basis.
Salary will be: £30,738 a year.
