About Splash Damage

Splash Damage is an independently-owned studio on the outskirts of London, and we're all about crafting engaging multiplayer experiences. Last year, we launched our multiplayer shooter Dirty Bomb on PC and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One. We’re currently working on Gears of War 4 and several other high-profile projects on PC and console. We’re looking for superstars to help make them great!

The Role

As Associate Video Editor, you’re the trusted champion of internal communication across and the game IPs of the studio. You’ll be responsible for working monthly with each of our game teams, to help showcase their work to the rest of the studio and our partners.

You’ll be mentored by our experienced video team to take on the role end to end, starting from script production, you’ll follow each video asset, editing rough cuts through to audio mastering of the final render.

Responsibilities at a Glance

Working within the video team to edit digital content to our highest quality standards
Liaise with game teams to help plan, produce and deliver all video content on time
Complete post production for projects including grading, mastering, encoding in different formats and uploading to the web
Take responsibilities for graphic and animatic projects, as well as supporting the Brand Manager with edits that require animation skills
To work on individual projects from start to finish, ensuring top quality results are delivered within given deadlines
Edit all video content produced in house, including marketing projects and internal updates
Research images, music, and video content as support material to video shoots, whilst maintaining relevant admin to document usage of these
Take a leading role in backing up all data and organising a library of all media and maintaining any admin to document music usage
Suggest updates for edit software, equipment and cameras as and when relevant

Required Skills and Experience

Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Premiere, Audition, After Effects and PhotoShop)
Ability to structure and generate scripts and shot lists
Sound recording and editing experience
Ability to work through the entire capture, edit and publish
Excellent technical proficiency. Ability to configure cameras for exposure, colour white balance, slow motion, profiles, Knee & Gamma
Understanding of video compression and optimisation for web video
Ability to work under pressure and confident in delivering to tight deadlines, whilst prioritising multiple games simultaneously
Excellent task management and organisational skills
Ability to work collaboratively and value differing perspectives

Desirable Skills and Experience

At least 1 years full-time experience of working on digital media is preferable, but not essential providing you can demonstrate a high quality show reel
Strong demonstrable digital art/design and animation background
Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
Passionate about online gaming
Able to take own initiative
Detail oriented and creative
