The Challenge Ahead:
We’re looking for a talented Animator to work on the world’s number one, multi award winning, arcade racing franchise. You’ll be part of the Cinematic Presentation team within EA’s Guildford based Ghost Games studio; with responsibility for bringing to life the visceral, brutal car action we’re critically acclaimed, trusted and renowned for.
What an Animator does at Ghost:
Creating 3D pre-vis for dynamic action sequences from storyboards and animatics
Responsible for delivering stylish, engaging and entertaining sequences to our hi octane driving action that is consistent with the artistic vision for the game
Must be able to demonstrate understanding of principles of cinematography to enhance momentum, energy and pace that match our AAA games
Create compelling and believable characters for both sequences and in-game systems
The next great Ghost Animator also needs:
To demonstrate an excellent understanding of the principles of animation
Proven AAA game development experience or demonstrable CG experience in Commercials or Features
Excellent knowledge of current 3D software (Maya, Motion Builder and Max)
Experience of motion capture clean-up and editing preferred
Experience of facial animation is an advantage
Editing skills in After Effects/Premiere
Strong layout and camera animation skills are a must along with staging and storytelling techniques
Clear understanding of film language, cinematography, demonstrating strong composition, continuity and camera angle choices
Generalist capabilities (i.e. the ability to animate, light and composite are an advantage)
Strong communication, good time-management and organizational skills
Flexible, able to adapt, and open to an evolving brief, changing ideas and direction
Follow direction as well as being proactive, providing imaginative, creative solutions to problems
Experience working within Scrum
Open to learning new skills, display a passion for animation and a desire to make great games
