Future Games of London is an independent studio that designs, develops and publishes Smartphone and Tablet games. Founded in September 2009, FGOL create wholly owned and original IP which by March  2016 had achieved over 280 million downloads worldwide following the success of Hungry Shark Evolution. The long-awaited Hungry Shark World, which was released May 2016 is already a smashing success with over 10 million downloads worldwide.

The ideal candidate:

Future Games of London is seeking for a talented server engineer with experience and expertise in implementing and running massively scalable backend services for games/applications. Reporting to the Lead Server Programmer the main responsibilities of the Senior Server Engineer would be to implement various key modules for the backend, architect new features with other senior programmers and extend/refactor current implementations. The programmer should be capable enough for creating various technical solutions and should have strong understanding of various backend mechanics and scenarios.


  • Proficient in Java/C# with good understanding of object oriented development

  • Knowledge of NodeJS/Javascript

  • Experience with HTML5, Angular JS and CSS.

  • Exposure to Several AWS services.

  • Good debugger and problem solver

  • Can break down and estimate tasks accurately

  • Can analyse an existing module of reasonable complexity and extend it


  • Used Gradle/Maden

  • Exposed to Java 8 and Spring Boot

  • Worked with Redis/DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases

  • Agile development experience.

  • Experience with DevOps and TDD Culture. 


  • Shipped mobile games as a server programmer

  • A good understanding of the challenges involved in scaling services.

  • Worked on multiplatform products

  • Functional programming/Scala
